Jakarta (ANTARA News) - Foreign Affairs Minister Retno Marsudi has confirmed that two Indonesian nationals were victims of the bomb explosion near the Buddhist Erawan shrine in Bangkok, Thailand, on Monday evening.

"Two Indonesian nationals were victims of the explosion, of whom one is dead and the other is wounded," Minister Marsudi said at the Foreign Affairs Minister Office on Tuesday.

The minister had sought a confirmation for the same from Indonesias Ambassador to Thailand, Lutfi Rauf, who said a 61 year-old Indonesian male had been wounded and was now hospitalized at the Hua Chiew Hospital in Bangkok.

"The man has been identified as HI and will undergo a surgery," she noted.

Meanwhile, the deceased victim, identified as LLT, was a 61 year-old Indonesian female.

The body of LLT has been transferred to a police hospital in Bangkok.

"Mr. HI and Mrs. LLT were husband and wife and had come from Jakarta," the minister said.

Marsudi added that the use of the initials was aimed at protecting the interests of the family of the victims.

With regards to information about any other Indonesian nationals who might have been hurt during the blast, the Indonesian Embassys officials have been searching hospitals around Bangkok.

Up till now, searches had been carried out in 15 hospitals, Minister Marsudi noted.

The embassy in Bangkok had also issued some advisories to Indonesians, who were staying in or visiting Thailand, asking them to be cautious and avoid all places, which are temporarily closed.

Those having information about any other blast-affected Indonesians, or having family members currently visiting Thailand, had been asked by the embassy in Bangkok to call immediately at the hotline number +66929031103.

The Thai Police on Tuesday morning revised the death toll of Monday nights bombing to 20, from 19, and said 125 people had been injured and were seeking medical help.
