Vienna (ANTARA News/Xinhua-OANA) - The chief of the UN nuclear agency visited Parchin, one of the most sensitive military sites of Iran, during his trip to the country, the agency said on Sunday.

Parchin is considered to be one of the most important and sensitive issues of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) s probe of Irans nuclear plan, and the agency said it wanted to get the full access of the site, not only to collect sample.

"As part of the implementation of the Road-map, the Director General (Yukiya Amano) visited the site of Parchin, together with the Head of the Department of Safeguards, Tero Varjoranta,"the agency said in a statement.

The statement, however, did not provide any details.

On Sunday, Amano also met with Iranian president Hassan Rouhani in Tehran, President of the Atomic Energy Organisation of Iran, Ali Akbar Salehi, and Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif.

Parchin military site is located in the southeast of capital Tehran. Western intelligence agencies have claimed that Iran might have conducted secret nuclear tests with possible military dimensions in Parchin. Iran has strongly denied the allegations.

Amanos visit to Tehran came as the IAEA is racing to implement an agreement reached in mid-July between Iran and the world powers to resolve Irans nuclear standoff.

Under the deal, Iran would improve the transparency of its nuclear plan while freezing some of its nuclear activities in exchange for sanction relief.(*)
