By monitoring the oil production report, the governors can estimate how much share of production they will receive from the central government.
Bandung, W Java (ANTARA News) - All governors in Indonesia will be able to access oil and gas production report from their cellular phones, starting next year, an official has said.

"We will give PIN numbers to all the governors to enable them to keep themselves abreast of the developments in oil and gas production through their information system," the chief of the public relations division at the Upstream Oil and Gas Regulatory Special Task Force (SKKMigas), Elan Biantoro, said here on Saturday.

Speaking to the press after a media gathering organized by JOB Pertamina-Medco E&P Tomori Sulawesi, Elan said the new policy will be launched in Yogyakarta later this month.

"We will distribute PIN numbers to the governors (which will enable them) to log into our information system any time through their mobile phones," he said.

He said during the October-December period, his side will make preparations for technological application and familiarize the governors with the way the system operates. By January 2016, they would have been prepared to monitor oil and gas production.

The decision to give the governors access to the SKK Migas information system is part of information related transparency that the task force has been developing, he said.

"By monitoring the oil production report, the governors can estimate how much share of production they will receive from the central government," he said.(*)
