Jakarta (ANTARA News) - The Indonesian Government will propose the archives of Non-Aligned Movement or NAM (to UNESCO) to be accepted as Memory of The World or the world heritage.

"After successfully proposed the Asia-African Conference archives as the world heritage, Indonesia will also propose the NAM archives to be included in the Memory of the World (MOW)," Chief of National Archive Agency or ANRI Mustari Irawan said here on Friday.

According to him, the proposal of the NAM archives will be forwarded on the period of 2016-2017.

"We will propose the archives through a joint nomination with several hosts of NAM Summit," Irawan said, adding that the hosts consist of Serbia, Algeria, including Egypt.

Irawan further said, the archives of Asia Africa Conference or AAC and Non-Aligned Movement have significant role and international values.

ANRI proposed the Asia-Africa archives as a world heritage on 2012.

Irawan said the Asia-Africa Conference archives have been included as a world heritage in the Memory of The World after UNESCO inaugurated it on October 2015 in Abu Dhabi.

He lauded UNESCO for the support and recognition of the archives.

The ANRI saves various archives of AAC in video, textual and photograph.

The archives, says Irawan, recorded all valuable events in AAC that occurred on April 18-24, 1955.

"Hopefully, the NAM archives can also be received as a world heritage in Memory of the World," he added. (*)
