As a result of the investigation, our wheat flour exports to Indonesia have dropped dramatically."
Jakarta (ANTARA News) - Istanbuls flour entrepreneurs belonging to the Blacksea Exporters Unions expressed hope that the Indonesian Anti-Dumping Committee (KADI) would halt the investigation process on Turkish flour companies.

"As a result of the investigation, our wheat flour exports to Indonesia have dropped dramatically," Yasar Serpi, the unions chairman, noted in a press release received by ANTARA News here on Friday.

Serpi explained that wheat flour is exported to Indonesia at low prices, thereby resulting in a positive impact on the production of noodles made from flour and ultimately helping to increase Indonesias noodle exports.

Data from the union revealed that in 2010 and 2011, Turkeys wheat flour exports to Indonesia reached an average of 30 thousand tons per month and is currently only about five thousand tons per month.

"You (Indonesia) import wheat flour from Turkey and sell the noodles (with the basic ingredient flour coming from Turkey) at a better price. We export wheat to countries that do not grow grain, such as Indonesia, so we know that they really need it," Serpi affirmed.

Therefore, Turkish exporters have rejected accusations of dumping leveled against them and are awaiting the Indonesian governments decision to address the issue.

The Turkish exporters are planning to meet the committee to seek a clarification on the investigation into the accusations of dumping levied on Turkish wheat exporters in the hopes that the probe will be completed in November 2015.

Indonesias assumption that Turkish wheat flour exporters are conducting dumping in the country is an old issue that still affects the import-export business between the two nations.
