Palembang, S Sumatra (ANTARA News) - The television journalists from ten countries are scheduled to participate in an Asia-Pacific conference organized by the Indonesian Television Journalist Association (IJTI) in Palembang, South Sumatra, on November 19-21, 2015.

The foreign participants are from Malaysia, Singapore, India, the Philippines, China, Timor Leste, and Australia, among others, Ardiansyah, the chairman of the IJTI South Sumatra, stated here, Thursday.

Indonesian Minister of Communications and Informatics Rudiantara will open the regional conference on Thursday evening (Nov. 19).

He remarked that the participants will discuss about peace journalism during the meeting.

In addition, the IJTI conference is expected to increase understanding on peace journalism among television reporters.

On the sidelines of the discussions, the participants will be invited to undertake a sightseeing tour of Palembang and the surrounding areas to gain a firsthand glimpse of the various tourist attractions, including the historical landmarks.(*)
