Jakarta (ANTARA News) - The attorney general office quietly stopped investigation of a corruption case involving PT Primer Agroindustry Makmur (PAM) and the Tangerang branch of Bank Pembangunan Daerah Jawa Barat dan Banten (BJB).

The corruption case caused a loss of US$14 million to the state in credit from the BJB bank, which is owned by the West Java and Banten regional administration to be used for expansion of crude palm oil business.

Reliable sourcer at the attorney general office said the process of investigation was stopped in early this year when the post of Special Crime Junior Attorney General (JAM Pidsus) was held by R Widyo Pranomo, now holding the post of Supervision Junior Attorney General (JAM Was).

The source said the investigation was stopped after the company returned the money to the state .

Head of the law information center of the Attorney General Office Amir Yanto was not available for comment.

JAM Pidsus Arminsyah promised to look into the case saying he did not know much about the case as he was new in his present position. Earlier he was Intelligence Junior Attorney General (JAM Intel).

"I will check first," Arminsyah said when asked for confirmation here on Tuesday.

PT PAM received a loan from BJB supposedly to develop CPO business , but the project turned out to be fictive causing a loss of US$9 million ton the state.

The Attorney general investigators already summoned and questioned a number of witnesses including deputy governor of Banten for 2007-2012 HM Masduki.

The attorney general already named six suspects in the case including five from BJB -- Rubyana Ramdhan bin Sujana former head of the Tangerang branch of BJB, Enthis Kushendar former BJB credit director, Agus Ruswendi , former BJB chief executive, Galis Prasetya, former analyst at the BJB head office, and Bangbang Purnama former head of the credit division of PT BJB.
