This plan was disclosed by Vice Governor of Jakarta, Djarot Saiful Hidayat, at a meeting in the city hall building here on Monday.

"As per the plan, the main entertainment stage would be in Ancol. In addition, an entertainment stage would be set up in every region in Jakarta," Vice Governor Hidayat added.

Furthermore, he said the government of Jakarta will enforce a car free night policy in all the streets from M.H. Thamrin up to Sudirman road.

"The car free night rule will remain, and will be enacted along the Sudirman road till Thamrin. It will come into effect at 07.00 p.m. local time," Hidayat explained.

Meanwhile, chief of the Jakarta Metropolitan Police Command Inspector General Tito Karnavian revealed some iconic activities to be held on the New Year eve in Ancol.

"A series of events will be held in Ancol, such as a music concert by Iwan Fals and a firework show. Since these locations will be the central point of the event, we would increase the security," General Carnavian stated.
