Jakarta (ANTARA News) - State-owned Enterprises Minister Rini Sumarno has sacked RJ Lino from his post as president director of PT Pelindo II (Persero) after the Corruption Eradication Commission named him as a suspect.

PT Pelindo II (Persero) engages in ports services.

"The dismissal of RJ Lino and another director of PT Pelindo II, Ferialdy Noerlan, is aimed to allow both the officials to focus their minds fully on settling their own legal cases," the minister said in her press release received here on Wednesday.

The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) named Richard Joost Lino, better known as RJ Lino, as a suspect. He was allegedly involved in a corruption case connected to Quay Container Crane procurement at Tanjung Port in 2010.

Following the ouster of RJ Lino, Minister Rini asked the council of commissioners of PT Pelindo II to appoint two of the companys directors, one as acting president director and another as director of the company, pending final appointments.

RJ Lino said he has accepted the ministers decision to dismiss him.

Lino was appointed as president director of PT Pelindo II in 2010.

Previously, Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs Rizal Ramli had sharply criticized RJ Lino at a meeting with the House of Representatives Special Committee (Pansus) probing the alleged corruption in the state-owned port operator.

Rizal criticized the system of management and financial performance of the company under Lino.(*)
