Jayapura, Papua (ANTARA News)- A Trigana Airs Twin Otter plane carrying Papua Police Chief Inspector General Paulus Waterpauw landed in Sinak, Puncak District, Papua Province, safely on Monday at 10:40 a.m. local time, Nasrul, an employee of Trigana Air said.

The plane, piloted by Captain Willy Resubun and Co-pilot Danu, was currently in Sinak, Nasrul said here on Monday.

Nasrul added that he had not heard about a shooting incident targeting the plane.

"We had not received any reports about a shooting incident," he said, confirming that pthe plane and the passengers were safe in Sinak.

The Papua police chief and Puncak District Head Willem Wandik visited Sinak following a report of an attack on the Sinak police station by a group of separatists.

Earlier, it was reported that the Trigana Air plane with the Papua police chief and entourage on board was shot at by separatists while approaching Sinak.

The plane reportedly returned to Wamena following the attack. But, Nasrul said he had not heard about the incident.

The Papua Police Chief visited Sinak following an attack on the Sinak police office by a group of separatists.

Three police officers were killed, and two injured, during the police station attack.

"Its true, the attack happened on Sunday evening at around 8.45 p.m. Central Indonesian Standard Time (WIT), killing three officers and injuring two others. Seven guns were stolen," Papua Provincial Police Chief Inspector General Waterpauw said before leaving for Sinak.

The attackers stole two AK-47 assault rifles, two SS1 rifles and Mauser rifles, as well as one crate of ammunition.

The Papua police chief deployed two squads of mobile brigade officers to Sinak following the attack.
