Jakarta (ANTARA News) - President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) has expressed confidence that Indonesias tourism industry will not be affected by Thursdays terror attack in the heart of Jakarta.

"Today, I have confirmed personally from hotels, in fact, that there is no outflow of tourists," the President said while visiting the Pullman Hotel located near the Hotel Indonesia Circle, on Friday.

He said he had asked the tourism minister to check if there was any exodus of tourists following the terror attack.

However, later he wanted to personally check on this fact, and as he arrived in Pullman, he immediately asked the hotels guest administration about this.

Jokowi also talked to a foreign tourist staying at the hotel.

"Everything was back to normal within just three hours," the president said.

"It was quite scary yesterday, but now everything is back to normal," the Latin American tourist said.

Earlier, Jokowi went to the Sarinah Department Store and had a chat with some people and the stores employees.

He expressed his optimism that Thursdays attack did not significantly affect the life of the community.

A group of suicide bombers attacked a Starbucks Coffee shop and a police post near Sarinah, killing seven people---a Canadian, an Indonesian, and five terrorists. The bomb blasts and shootout between police and the terrorists also left 20 people injured, including five police officers, a German, a Dutch, an Algerian and an Austrian.
