Jakarta (ANTARA News) - State-owned toll road operator PT Jasa Marga Tbk saw its income falling short of the target of Rp7.92 trillion last year due to economic slowdown and several other factors that affected its performance.

"Admittedly, it was somewhat difficult (to achieve the target) due to several other incidents, besides the macro economic slowdown. But we hope we can earn Rp8.6 trillion in 2016," PT Jasa Marga Tbk President Director Reynaldi Hermansjah said on the sidelines of nature conservation program in Cisadane River, marking the companys 38th anniversary on Wednesday.

However, he did not elaborate on the several incidents that he said had affected the companys income.

Overall, the number of vehicles running on the toll roads operated by the company last year rose to 1.4 billion, up 4.5 percent, compared with 2014.

"Despite a decline in our income, we achieved efficiency in all our business lines. Therefore, in general, our income was not disrupted very much," he said.

Since the company had expanded its business in recent years, its net annual profit has relatively stayed the same, he said.

"Just in 2015, our interest expenses reached Rp1.5 trillion," he said.

The companys total assets in 2015 grew significantly to Rp38 trillion from Rp35 trillion a year earlier, he said.

This year, the company has allocated Rp13.8 trillion for capital expenditure. This will mostly be used to build new segments of toll roads.

These new segments will cover 70 kilometers, and are Surabaya-Mojokerto, Bawen-Salatiga and Solo-Ngawi segments.
