SINGAPORE, Jan. 25, 2016 (Antara/PRNewswire) -- Chubb Group announced today the appointments of Country Presidents for the general insurance business in Hong Kong, Singapore and Korea. The appointments are effective upon local legal entity integration.




Hong Kong : Mr. Douglas White, currently Country President for ACE in Hong Kong with oversight for Taiwan & Macau, will continue in that role as Country President for Chubb in Hong Kong overseeing Taiwan & Macau.





Mr. White worked with Royal Reinsurance and Cunningham Lindsey in London after which he was transferred to Hong Kong, focusing on adjustment of major construction and engineering claims. He joined Gibbs Insurance Brokers (subsequently renamed HSBC Insurance Brokers) in 1995 and in 2006, was appointed CEO of their Asia Pacific businesses. In 2010, Mr. White joined Jardine Lloyd Thompson where he managed their businesses in China, Japan, Korea, Taiwan, Thailand and Vietnam before his appointment in 2014 as Country President for ACE in Hong Kong.




Singapore : Mr.Greg Dodds, currently Senior Vice President, Asia Pacific Zone Manager, Chubb Commercial Insurance, has been appointed as Country President of Singapore subject to regulatory approval.





Mr. Dodds is an underwriter by training who started with CIGNA Insurance Group in 1983 and progressed to roles of increasing underwriting responsibility within CIGNA's Australian operations. After ACE acquired CIGNA in the late nineties, Mr. Dodds became the Country President of Thailand in 2000 and later joined Chubb in 2002 as the Asia Pacific Marine Manager. His regional responsibilities have led to postings in Singapore and China. Most recently, as the regional head of Commercial Lines, he was successful in driving bottom-line results across Australia, Singapore, Malaysia, Korea, Hong Kong, Japan and China.




Both Mr. White and Mr. Dodds will report to Paul McNamee, Deputy Regional President and Regional Head of Property & Casualty for Chubb in Asia Pacific. Korea : Mr. Edward Kopp, currently Country President for ACE in Korea will continue in that role as Country President for Chubb in Korea.




Mr. Kopp has more than 20 years of experience in the financial services industry. He commenced his career in Deloitte & Touche providing professional services primarily to managed care organizations and insurance companies in the US. He joined CIGNA Corporation in 2002 as Controller and Compliance Officer and quickly rose through the ranks becoming the Chief Operating Officer of CIGNA's operations in Korea and later Chief Executive Officer of its business in Hong Kong. Before joining ACE in 2013, Mr. Kopp was the Deputy President and Chief Operating Officer for a joint-venture at a well-known financial group in Korea.




Mr. Kopp will report to Juan Luis Ortega, Regional President for Chubb in Asia Pacific.
