Scouts will be given training courses on creative economy ..."
Jakarta (ANTARA News) - Some 25 thousand Indonesian scouts will participate in the Tenth National Jamboree to be held in the Cibubur Camping Ground here on August 14-23, 2016.

Chairman of the National Scout Headquarter Adhyaksa Dault reported on the plan to organize the jamboree to President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) at the presidential office, here, Friday.

The jamboree would be held to coincide with the 55th anniversary of the Indonesian Scout, according to Dualt, who was accompanied by Youth and Sports Minister Imam Nahrawi.

At the jamboree, several ministers will give a speech highlighting not only scout-related matters but also current issues, such as deradicalization and the creative economy.

"Scouts will be given training courses on creative economy, so that they can start their own businesses and would no longer be keen on becoming civil servants," the former youth and sports minister noted.

Scouts should be able to become entrepreneurs, he emphasized.

Minister Nahrawi remarked that President Jokowi supported the planned activity and was ready to help partly finance the implementation of the jamboree.

The youth and sports minister promised to coordinate with the finance minister to help cover the funding deficit amounting to Rp60 billion for the implementation of the event.

Currently, the organizing committee has Rp35 billion to organize the jamboree.

A month prior to the event, President Jokowi will inspect the location to ensure that it has proper sanitation facilities, such as bathrooms and toilets.
