Jakarta, March 13 (Antara)- President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) has expressed his sincere condolences on the death of Prof Dr Jusuf Sjarif Badudu, a prominent Indonesian language expert, who passed away on March 12, 2016.

"The Indonesian nation has lost JS Badudu. He had dedicated his whole life for the Indonesian language. His dedication becomes a role model for all of us - Jkw," the Head of State tweeted on his Twitter account @jokowi.

JS Badudu, 89, passed away at Hasan Sadikin Hospital, Bandung, West Java, on Saturday at 10:10 p.m. local time.

He was rushed to the hospital with signs of a stroke.

Badudu was a language lecturer at the University of Padjajaran (Unpad) and the Indonesia University of Education (UPI).

His remains were buried in Cikutra Heroes Cemetery in Bandung. ***4***
