Jakarta (ANTARA News) - One passenger was injured after a Transjakarta feeder bus was reported to have flipped over on one of South Jakartas busiest roads in the Warung Buncit area at 8.30 am on Tuesday.

"The bus was carrying seven passengers when the accident took place. One passenger was injured and taken to the nearest hospital for medical treatment," the bus operating companys spokesperson, Prasetia Budi, told ANTARA News on Tuesday.

The injured passenger suffered injuries to the hand and head, the spokesperson added.

Based on information from an onboard officer, the accident took place at the Buncit Indah bus stop after dropping off passengers.

After a number of passengers departed the bus, the bus driver lost control of the vehicle and struck the separator on the right side of the bus way, according to authorities.

The bus then struck a tree on the roads median and flipped over on the bus way.

"Currently, the bus driver and the onboard officer are under investigation by the Jakarta Police," Prasetia said.

The accident caused a major traffic jam, as bus way lanes in both directions were temporarily closed until the damaged bus was removed.
