Manado (ANTARA News) - North Sulawesi exported frozen tuna fish worth US$61,200 to the United States early this month.

"Demand is high for frozen tuna from North Sulawesi in the United States," head of the provincial industry and trade service Jenny Karouw said here on Wednesday.

Jenny said exports of frozen tuna to the United States has increased from year to year.

North Sulawesi tuna is higher in quality compared with tuna from other waters, she said.

She said North Sulawesi has also exported tuna fish to Europe and other Asian countries.

Exporters should take advantage of the opportunity and maintaining or expanding market foothold abroad, she said.

The government would facilitate exports by cutting red tape, she added.
