London (ANTARA News) - Indonesia has emphasized the importance of inclusive and sustainable space cooperation, especially for developed countries, according to Chief of the National Institute of Aeronautics and Space (LAPAN) Thomas Djamaludin.

Dody Kusumonegoro, spokesman of the Indonesian Embassy in Vienna, informed ANTARA News in London on Thursday that Djamaludin had emphasized on the importance of cooperation during the General Debate at the 59th Session of the United Nations Committee on the Peaceful Uses of Outer Space in Vienna recently.

At the time, the LAPAN chief had noted that inclusive and sustainable cooperation by involving all countries will support capacity improvement in outer space technology for developing countries.

In addition, it will contribute to the achievement of the global development goal, remarked Djamaludin.

On the occasion, he also revealed LAPANs plan to launch the third Low Earth Orbit Microsatellite on June 20, 2016, at the Satish Dhawan Space Centre SHAR India.

Based on the plan to launch such a satellite, Indonesia has invited other countries to cooperate in the utilization of the satellite data.
