"The newly sworn in ministers must be reminded that all ministries or state agencies must be directly in line with the president's and vice president`s vision and mission," President Jokowi said.
Jakarta (ANTARA News) - President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) has asked all ministers, especially those newly sworn, to ensure they have a vision and a mission that is in line with the president's and vice presidents vision.

"The newly sworn in ministers must be reminded that all ministries or state agencies must be directly in line with the president's and vice presidents vision and mission," President Jokowi said while chairing the plenary session at the Merdeka Palace in Jakarta on Wednesday.

President Jokowi also reminded that all policies being followed, especially those that have a high impact on the people, must be addressed through the cabinet meeting, whether plenary meeting or the limited meeting.

The president also underlined that the policies adopted in the cabinet meetings should be entirely supported by all members of the Working (Kerja) Cabinet.

"Decisions taken in the cabinet meeting must be solid and have consistency, and everyone must fully support these," Jokowi added.

On the occasion, the president underlined that the ministers must focus on major issues, namely food, reducing the gap between the rich and the poor and development in the regions.

"These are the important issues that we need to solve. Poverty and unemployment are things that must be quickly addressed," the president emphasized in front of all his aides in the Working Cabinet.

Jokowi stressed that the challenges Indonesia faces today are not easy, especially in the context of global economy.

Therefore, the president encouraged his aides to focus on the governments vision and mission which must be realized, especially when it comes to infrastructure.(*)
