Mataram, W Nusa Tenggara (ANTARA News) - An earthquake measuring 5.6 on the Richter scale jolted Dompu, Sumbawa Island, West Nusa Tenggara Province, on Monday at 6:04 .am. local time.

The tremors epicenter was located 8.23 degree southern latitude and 117.86 degree eastern longitude, some 63 km northwest of Dompu, and at a depth of 18 km, Head of the Mataram Geophysics Office Agus Riyanto said here, Monday.

The quake did not have potential to trigger a tsunami, but was felt on Lombok Island at IV modified mercalli intensity (MMI).(*)
