Jakarta (ANTARA News) - National Police chief General Tito Karnavian held a coordination meeting with several ministries here on Monday to discuss efforts to increase state revenues.

"This is a synergy to increase state revenues. We (the National Police) support the governments policies in the economic field. We want to encourage any effort to increase state revenues, including the National Polices effort to uphold the law, for instance, in handling smuggling cases," he said at the National Police Headquarters here on Monday.

He said his side also agreed to support the effort of creating conducive investment climate in the country.

"Besides the investment climate, we also participate in creating price stability and maintaining sound competition. We will supervise and monitor cartels. We will not hesitate to take legal action against cartels which play the game with prices," he said.

The meeting was attended by several ministers including Trade Minister Enggartiasto Lukita and Agriculture Minister Amran Sulaiman, and Chief of the Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM) Thomas Lembong.

Also present were Chief of the Business Competition Supervisory Commission (KPPU) Sarkawi Rauf and the Director General of Customs and Excise at the Finance Ministry Heru Pambudi.

The National Police chief said a video conference was also held during the coordination meeting to give directives to the ranks and files of all provincial police.(*)
