Jakarta (ANTARA News) - President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) affirmed that his government has continued to promote mental revolution to advance the nation in a bid to harbor a progressive, optimistic, and innovative mindset.

"We can only make a breakthrough for the advancement of the nation if we have a progressive, optimistic, and innovative mindset," President Jokowi remarked in his State of the Nation Address in the run-up to the 71st anniversary of Indonesias Independence at a joint session of the Regional Representatives Council and the House of Representatives here on Tuesday.

Hence, the president emphasized that the government had continued to spearhead the process of mental revolution, which encompasses changing the mindset and system, and the process should be implemented, starting from all government institutions.

According to the president, several parties are yet unaware that some of the barriers hindering Indonesias progress arise from within themselves.

"Indonesia is a great nation that once inspired the colonized countries to gain independence," the president pointed out.

Further, Jokowi affirmed that Indonesia, as a great nation, should become confident and emerge as a country of winners.

The head of state then invited all Indonesians to work together to address poverty, unemployment, and social inequality.

"Without it all, Indonesia will cease to be a great nation, and its glory will be washed away by the tide of history. We do not want this to happen," Jokowi added.(*)
