Jakarta (ANTARA News) - The police have arrested Gatot Bradjamusti, general chairman of the Indonesian Film Artists Association, for allegedly using a narcotic drug.

Bradjamusti was caught along with a woman Dewi Aminah in room number 1100 of Hotel Golden Tulip in Mataram, West Nusa Tenggara, on Sunday, Inspector General Boy Rafli Amar, head of the Public Relations Division of the National Police, remarked here on Monday.

"Based on a tip-off from the public, the suspect often held parties in which methamphetamine was used," he noted.

Rafli said the police confiscated a plastic packet containing methamphetamine, a bong, a glass pipe, two straws, a gas lighter to light the bong, two wallets containing an ID and cash money, as well as a cell phone from the suspect.

The police have also seized a plastic packet containing methamphetamine, a bong, two glass pipes, four straws, five gas lighters, a wallet, a strip of medicine, and two condoms from Aminah.

Rafli said the police team, led by Adjunct Senior Commissioner Hengky Haryadi and Adjunct Senior Commissioner Herry Heryawan and comprising 20 personnel, had searched Gatots house on Jalan Niaga Hijau X Number 1, Pondok Pinang, Kebayoran Lama, South Jakarta, and discovered 30 syringes, nine bongs, seven pipes, 39 lighters, and a pack of methamphetamine weighing 10 grams.

The police also discovered three boxes of ammunition, a Glock 26 gun, a Walther gun, an army knife and holder, eight rounds of ammunition, 500 rounds of 9mm ammunition, three boxes of 9mm ammunition, and a box of Fiochini 32 ammunition.

Other items discovered by the police as evidence from his home, include a stuffed Sumatran tiger and a stuffed Javanese falcon.(*)
