Bogor (ANTARA News) - Queen Maxima of the Netherlands is on a working visit to Bogor City, West Java, as a special envoy of the United Nations for Financial Inclusion, or UNSGA.

Queen Maximas visit to directly observe the financial inclusion programs in Bogor is already underway with a trip to SMP Negeri 1, E-Warong, and BRILink Smart Agent.

Queen Maximas visit commenced from the SMP Negeri 1 to review the student savings program, or Simple program, managed by PT Bank Negara Indonesia Tbk.

During the visit, Queen Maxima engaged in a dialog with one of the students related to the Simple program to seek more information on its benefits.

The Queen also shed light on how to make transactions relating to the Simple savings account. Some students enthusiastically heard her explanation.

Following her visit to SMP Negeri 1, Queen Maxima later met a BRILink Smart Agent on Jalan Achmad Sobana in the Bantarjati area.

She then witnessed the implementation of the Mutual Cooperation Electronic (E-Warong) belonging to the Business Group (KUBE) in Sempur Village.

E-Warong was inaugurated by Minister of Social Affairs Khofifah Indar Parawansa on Tuesday (Aug. 23) in Sempur Village and is a national program under the framework of disbursing cashless relief aid to the people in an effort to alleviate poverty.

During the visit, Queen Maxima was accompanied by Mayor of Bogor Bima Arya Sugiarto and also member of the Board of Commissioners Education Sector and consumer protection of the Financial Services Authority.

According to Queen Maxima, the role of financial institutions is crucial in improving literacy and financial inclusion in Indonesia. She believes that financial inclusion can play a vital role in realizing the Sustainable Development Goals by 2030.
