Jakarta (ANTARA News) - President Joko Widodo has expressed the hope that the newly-installed Energy and Mineral Resources Minister Ignasius Jonan and his deputy minister Arcandra Tahar would be able to carry out massive reforms in the energy sector.

"Although I know that both are stubborn, they like to go to the field themselves," President Joko Widodo said after an inauguration ceremony at the State Palace on Friday.

The president affirmed that both the people were the right fit for the respective posts.

The president expressed the hope that the two leaders will be able to resolve the problems in the energy sector.

President Joko Widodo had earlier appointed Ignatius Jonan and Arcandra Tahar as minister and deputy minister of energy and mineral resources, respectively.

Jonan and Tahar took oath in front of the president at the State Palace before he left for a working visit to the West Kalimantan Province.

Jonan was installed as the Energy Minister for the remaining term of office, till 2019, through Presidential Decree No. 114/P/2016, concerning the appointment of a working cabinet minister. Tahar was ordained through Presidential Decree No. 115/P/2016.(*)
