Jakarta (ANTARA News) - Health Minister Nila Farid Moeloek has called on the nation to follow a healthy lifestyle and join health insurance, during the commemoration of National Health Day observed on November 12.

"Most of the time, people realize the importance of being healthy only when they fall ill," Moeloek said in a statement here on Saturday.

She called on the public to maintain healthy lifestyle by exercising at least for 30 minutes daily; taking nutritious and balanced food, vegetables and fruits every day; and keeping the environment clean.

The minister also reminded the importance of having routine medical checkup of blood pressure, blood sugar and cholesterol levels.

Health is the most precious asset and an investment and blessing from God, she noted.

Everyone has the right to have access to good health. "We have to follow a healthy lifestyle to maintain our health," she added.(*)
