Cilacap, C Java (ANTARA News) - An earthquake measuring 4.7 on the Richter scale shook Cilacap district, Central Java, on Tuesday night, according to the local meteorological station.

The epicenter of the quake which struck at 07.41 p.m. was located 8.36 degrees southern latitude and 109.22 degrees eastern longitude or 74 kilometers southeast at a depth of 10 kilometers, chief of the boards technician team, Teguh Wardojo said.

The quake could be felt by local residents at "Modified Mercalli Intensity (MMI)" II.

However, he believed most of local residents could not feel the quake.(*)
