"I came here to make sure of their readiness," the head of state remarked.
Depok, West Java (ANTARA News) - President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) visited the Army Strategic Reserves Command (Kostrad) Division 1 Headquarters in Cilodong, Depok, West Java, on Wednesday, to ensure its readiness in defending the sovereignty of the Republic of Indonesia.

"I came here to make sure of their readiness," the head of state remarked after giving directives to 3,500 personnel of Kostrad Division 1 at the Cilodong Headquarters.

An essential part of the National Military (TNI), Kostrad is part of the fighter Main Command (KOTAMA) of the Indonesian Armed Forces, whose members are ready to defend the sovereignty of Indonesia.

Kostrad has contributed much to secure Indonesia from various state conflicts.

Jokowi inspected the main weaponry systems (Alutsista) owned by the Kostrad.

The head of state asserted that the soldiers should protect the country from inside and outside interference, even in safe conditions.

Jokowi also confirmed that he had toured several headquarters of the TNI and the National Police (Polri) to assure the community on the readiness of soldiers in the face of any threats.

Earlier on Tuesday, the president visited the Air Force's Special Force Command (Korpaskhasau/Paskhas) Headquarters at the Sulaiman Airport in Bandung, West Java, to check the readiness of the troops, as well as to remind the soldiers that they were the front-line in maintaining pluralism.

Jokowi said he carried out the safari tours, because he had not visited TNI and Polri officers before as the Highest Commander of the TNI.

The president said he wanted an orderly state, where the majority protects the minority and the minority respects the majority.

"They should protect each other, respect each other and live in harmony," he said.(*)
