Jakarta (ANTARA News) - The Indonesian rupiah dropped 3.90 percent against the US dollar in November 2016, with the average lowest level reaching Rp13,500.32, according to the Central Statistics Agency (BPS).

The rupiah fell 506.36 points against the dollar in November 2016, compared to a month earlier, BPS Deputy Chairman for Distribution and Service Statistics, Sasmito Hadi Wibowo, said in a press conference here on Thursday.

"All through the month of November 2016, the rupiah depreciated against the US dollar," he noted.

The average lowest level of the rupiahs retail mid rate against the dollar was recorded at Rp13,500.32 in the fifth week of November 2016.

Province wise, the lowest level of the rupiahs mid rate against the US dollar was recorded at Rp13,627.88 in Banten in the fourth week of November 2016, while the highest level was listed at Rp13,151.00 in North Kalimantan province.

The rupiah also fell 1.48 percent against the Australian dollar in November 2016.

Also, province wise, the lowest level of the rupiahs mid rate against the Australian dollar was recorded at Rp10,340.50 in Maluku in the fifth week of November 2016.

The rupiah also depreciated by 1.62 percent against euro, with the average lowest level of mid rate recorded at Rp14.532.64 in the second week of November.

The lowest level of the rupiahs mid rate against euro at Rp14,881.50 was recorded in the Central Sulawesi province in the second week of November 2016. (*)
