Medan (ANTARA News) - The remains of Captain J. Hotlan F. Saragih arrived at 10 am, Jakarta time, at Soewondo airbase in Medan, Monday, enroute to his hometown in the Simalungun region.

The late Captains wife could be seen awaiting the arrival of Saragihs remains, while sitting in a wheelchair, after the sudden death of her late husband.

Accompanied by the Air Force squad, the remains of Captain J. Hotlan F. Saragih were received by Commander of the Airbase, Colonel P. Arifin Syahrir.

A funeral service was then held in the Soewondo hangar, Soewondo Airbase, Medan.

After the 90 minute funeral service, Saragihs remains were taken to the Simalungun region in an ambulance that belongs to Efarina Etaham hospital.

A cousin of the deceased, Hesti Sipayung, said that the remains will be taken to Pagar village in the Bandar Mariah Butu town in Simalungun.

As for the time and location of the burial, the family are still in discussions.

"We have yet to determine a place, it is still being discussed," she said.

According to officials, Captain J. Hotlan F. Saragih, born on June 16 1985, was the co-pilot in the Hercules A-130 aircraft that crashed in Minimo village, Mima disctrict, Jayawijaya sub-district on Sunday morning.

Captain Saragih left a wife, Hotriani Kristina Purba, who works at the Malang Police, and two sons.
