Jakarta (ANTARA News) - Two earthquakes measuring 5.5 and 5.4 on the Richter scale each hit Pidie Jaya district, Aceh province, early Thursday.

The first quake struck at 02.47 p.m. at a depth of 14 kilometers.

The quake was centered 5.18 degrees northern latitude and 96.19 degrees eastern longitude.

A few minutes after the first quake happened, another quake with a magnitude of 5.4 on the Richter scale rocked the district.

The epicenter of the quake was also located 5.18 degrees northern latitude and 96.19 degrees eastern longitude. (*)
