Bandung (ANTARA News) - A perpetrator who detonated a pan bomb in Pandawa Park, Bandung City, has been neutralized, West Java Polices Chief Inspector General of Police Anton Charliyan stated.

The police were able to capture the perpetrator but he died on the way to Sartika Asih Hospital, he said here on Monday.

When the West Java Polices Mobile Brigade tried to arrest the offender, he fired several bullets at the officers, Charliyan noted.

"When the police entered the hideout of the bomber, he fired shots at the officers. However, the police officers eventually managed to capture the perpetrator," he remarked.

The West Java Police then moved the perpetrator to the hospital aboard an ambulance, but he later died.

In this case, after blowing up the bomb, the offender fled to the urban village office of Arjuna. Employees of the office were ordered to leave the premises, and shortly thereafter, the perpetrator set ablaze the second floor of the office.
