King Salman is a state guest, with his convoy, so we are asked to welcome him."
Bogor (ANTARA News) - Bogor was exuberating an air of happiness and optimism in anticipation of Saudi King Salman Bin Abdulaziz Al Sauds visit to the city in West Java on Wednesday.

The feeling was apparent in the expressions of the Bogor students who thronged the main avenues around the citys central area, which fell in King Salmans route to the Bogor Palace.

The students, with their respective uniforms, some wearing the traditional Muslim cap, Peci, were already seen lining the street since 9:30 a.m. local time. All the students were holding the national flags of Indonesia and Saudi Arabia.

Not only the students but the citizens of Bogor have also demonstrated enthusiasm regarding King Salmans visit to the Bogor Palace. They also thronged the street along with thousands of students.

Some people have expressed curiosity over the Saudi King heading directly to the Bogor Palace following his arrival, as it is an uncommon practice.

"King Salman will visit Bogor, right, so I would like to see," Dona, a resident from the Bantarjati area, stated.

Although the Kings convoy, on its way to the Bogor Palace, passed at around 1 p.m. local time, the crowds had already gathered along the street despite the afternoon heat not dampening their spirits to welcome King Salman.

"This is an honorable visit to Bogor. Moreover, King Salman is on a visit to invest in Indonesia, so we should welcome him proudly," Rizal Rahmat, a high school student from Bogor, remarked.

Similar views were also echoed by Reagung Mulyawan, a middle school student, along with around 500 school mates, who had also thronged the street to welcome the Saudi king.

"King Salman is a state guest, with his convoy, so we are asked to welcome him," he noted.

Reagung said he was not compelled to do so but instead felt proud that he could come along with thousands of fellow students to welcome King Salman in Bogor.

"I am happy, as this is my first experience, and since I am also interested in matters related to international news," he added.

The situation in Bogor was conducive, with clear skies and slightly heavy traffic on some protocol streets before King Salman arrives. But, heavy rain fell when vehicles of the King and his entourage entered the gate of the Bogor Palace.
