Jakarta (ANTARA News) - President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) attended the Indian Ocean Rim Association (IORA) Summit, held at the Jakarta Convention Center, wearing a blue suit, complete with a tie having a similar tone.

At the official opening of the 2017 IORA Business Summit in Jakarta, Monday, the president appeared to have been dressed for the occasion, in which he wore a set of blue suit and tie instead of his usual black set.

In the community, blue is a color that is often associated with the ocean, which demonstrates the presidents high respect and regard for the IORA as a region that he views as the future of the world.

The IORA region, spanning from the southern part of Asia to Antarctica, is home to 2.7 billion citizens, and as a mark of respect, President Widodo arrived at around 12:45 p.m. local time, dressed in blue.

Soon after his arrival, the president delivered a keynote speech while addressing leaders of the IORA member countries, delegates, and distinguished guests.

Indonesia had the opportunity to become the host of the associations 2017 Summit.

The series of events are being organized on Mar 5-7 as part of the first IORA summit after the association came into existence two decades ago.

President Widodo began his speech by highlighting the regions huge business potentials.

"Indonesia wants to strengthen its maritime axis to be further connected with the IORA. Once again, we will need all of your business skills in order to come up with ideas to capitalize on the several opportunities this region holds," he added.
