Jakarta (ANTARA News) - President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) and state institution leaders held a meeting at the Merdeka Palace here on Tuesday to build the spirit of togetherness and optimism in all government programs.

"We want to build camaraderie and a sense of optimism in all the programs that have been done in the past and will be done by the government in future," the president remarked at a press conference after the meeting.

Jokowi revealed that the meeting was to discuss issues on economic equality policies related to the socio-economic gap and the inequalities existing in society that could be reduced by following up on the redistribution of assets and agrarian reform.

"We will begin to distribute concessions to the people, customary lands, cooperatives, and boarding schools, and will also speed up the distribution of certificates to the people who do not have them," Jokowi stated.

The president hoped that the policy will enable the people to gain collateral to access capital in banks.

At the start of the meeting, the president revealed that the Indonesian economy is currently facing the problem of imbalances.

"We seek inputs from the heads of state institutions for what we do now and what we will be doing in the future," he noted.

The heads of state institutions who attended the meeting were Vice President Jusuf Kalla; Peoples Consultative Assembly (MPR) Chairman Zulkifli Hasan and Deputy Chairmen Hidayat Nur Wahid and Oesman Sapta Odang; House of Representatives Speaker Setyo Novanto and Deputy Speakers Taufik Kurniawan, Fadli Zon, Agus Hermanto, and Fahri Hamzah; Supreme Justice Chief Hatta Ali; Constitutional Court Deputy Chairman Anwar Usman; Judicial Commission Chairman Aidul Fitriciada Azhari; and Supreme Audit Board Chairman Harry Azhar Azis.
