Probolinggo, E Java (ANTARA News) - At least ten people were killed when a bus, traveling from Bali to Malang in East Java, collided with a truck on a motorway in Probolinggo early Friday morning, East Java Police spokesman Senior Commissioner Frans Barung Mangera remarked.

"It is true that there was an accident in Probolinggo that killed 10 bus passengers, but the names of the victims are still being identified by the officers on the field," Mangera confirmed.

Speaking at the scene of the crash, Probolinggo Traffic Police Chief Adjunct Senior Commissioner Tri Nuartiko said that of the ten victims, two were foreigners.

According to him, the ill-fated Medali Mas bus was carrying 34 passengers from Denpasar to Malang when it collided with the truck at 3 a.m. Western Indonesia Standard Time (WIB) in Probolinggo, some 80 kilometers from Malang.

All the dead victims were taken to the morgue of dr Mohammad Saleh hospital, while dozens of injured victims were taken Wonolawang hospital in Probolinggo.(*)
