Bogor, West Java (ANTARA News) - Vice President Jusuf Kalla expressed optimism that the taekwondo and volleyball teams would win gold medals at the Sea Games in Kuala Lumpur on August 19-30, 2017.

"After witnessing the good training facilities for volleyball and taekwondo, I am optimistic that the teams for these two sports would win gold at the Sea Games," the vice president remarked after reviewing the training of the volleyball team in Sentul, Bogor, on Tuesday.

Kalla said the Sea Games holds significance, as it helps to evaluate the ability of Indonesian teams in Southeast Asia before advancing to the 2018 Asian Games.

In the meantime, Youth and Sports Minister Imam Nahrawi remarked that the Sea Games are the entry gate to higher achievements at the Asian Games event.

"Hence, we hope all achievements in sports would be maximized, and the expected target of winning gold would be achieved well," Nahrawi emphasized.
