Jakarta (ANTARA News) - The Indonesian police would questioned senior investigator of the anti-graft body Novel Baswedan at the Indonesian Embassy in Singapore, on the acid attack against him.

"After we received notification from the Indonesian Police on Friday, we work on coordination and the questioning is scheduled to be held on Monday at the Indonesian embassy in Singapore," a spokesman of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK), Febri Diansyah said here, Sunday.

Novel was attacked with acid on April 11, after he performed dawn prayer at Al-Ihsan mosque near his house in North Jakarta.

He suffered acid-induced injuries to his face, particularly his left eye and underwent treatment at Singapore National Eye Centre (SNEC) since April 12.

"He will be questioned at the Indonesian Embassy because he is an Indonesian citizen, and the Indonesian embassy is our territory," Febri said.

During the questioning, Novel would be accompanied by KPK team, including its chairman Agus Rahardjo.

"KPK team will accompany Novel Baswedan during the police questioning. In addition, KPK chief will be in Singapore too," he added.

The anti-graft body hoped that perpetrator of the attack could be arrested soon. "Including the mastermind. Moreover, after the President expressed his strong concern on the case."

Novel is scheduled to have a major surgery on August 17.

"Novel has shared many information to the police investigators who have met him in Singapore before," Febri said.

The police have yet to find the attacker of the KPK investigator, although it has questioned many witnesses and sketched the suspects face.

The sketch which was shown to President Joko Widodo on July 31 was a man with 167-170 cm in height, dark skin, curly hair, and quiet slim body.(*)
