Jakarta (ANTARA News) - Indonesia will explain the preparations for hosting the Asian Para Games 2018 in a coordination meeting of the committee in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, December 6-8, following delays in a number of meetings in Jakarta in August-October 2017.

"We should hold a number of meetings such as committee coordination meetings and technical delegation meetings in August and September. But the organization is backing down due to technical issues," said the Chairman of the Organizing Committee of Asian Para Games 2018 (INAPGOC) Raja Sapta Oktohari here over the weekend.

INAPGOC, Okto said, has contacted the Asian Paralympic Committee (APC) to ensure the holding of coordinating committee meetings after APC has repeatedly asked Indonesia`s sincerity as host of Asian Para Games 2018.

"Of course there will be consequences for late preparations, but we will try to communicate more effectively with APC," Okto said.

????INAPGOC will receive the 2018 Asian Para Games 2018 budget from the Ministry of Youth and Sports of Rp86 billion on Nov. 27 following an agreement on budgetary usage sourced from the reallocation of the Olympic Center in 2017 on Tuesday (Nov 14).

"We have prepared preparatory programs since August 2017 and are just waiting for the budget, we do not hold the auction process because the budget usage time is only until December 15," Okto said.

Secretary of the Ministry of Youth and Sports Gatot S. Dewa Broto said the government through the Ministry of Finance has pledged the budget shortfall of INAPGOC amounting to Rp700 billion from the total requirement of about Rp1.6 trillion.

"INAPGOC also does not have to spend Rp86 billion on budget assumptions in August 2017. The budget is not multi-year," Gatot said.

?Gatot added the additional guarantee amounting to Rp700 billion is beyond budget 2018 of Rp826 billion.
