Jakarta (ANTARA News) - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) rounded up eight persons in Subang, West Java, and put then in detention cells after a raid on Tuesday night.

The eight including head of the Subang district administration, a courier, district administration officials and businessmen were arrested on charge of corruption," KPK spokesman Febri Diansyah said here on Wednesday.

Ferbi said the KPK confiscated an amount of money from the suspects believed to be a bribe for project license.

He said the eight persons were rounded up and brought to the KPK office in Jakarta for investigations to determine their status before the law.

"They will be held for no longer than 24 days," he said.

Unconfirmed information said Subang District Head Imas Aryumningsih is among those arrested by KPK that night.

Imas is seeking reelection with Sutarno as candidate for deputy district head to content the regional election later this year.
