Jakarta (ANTARA News) - The State-Owned Enterprises Ministry and The Indonesian Military (TNI) have agreed to establish cooperation to accelerate infrastructure development.

The agreement was marked by the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between State-Owned Enterprises Minister Rini M. Soemarno and TNI Commander Marshal Hadi Tjahjanto in Cilangkap, Jakarta, on Monday.

Soemarno explained that the cooperation was a form of synergy between the Ministry of State-Owned Enterprises and the TNI for the implementation of their respective duties and functions.

The Ministry of State-Owned Enterprises and the TNI utilized human resources (HR), education, training, and others.

"The TNI will support the tasks and functions of the Ministry of State-Owned Enterprises as an agent of development," he stated.

Meanwhile, Tjahjanto welcomed the cooperation.

"It is a good step between the two parties to optimize their respective resources, which have never been utilized by both institutions," he remarked.

The ministry will increase the acceleration of the provision of social infrastructures and public facilities, namely home and school renovation, basic infrastructure, roads, or bridges, for the community.

The cooperation is expected to accelerate infrastructure development for the progress of Indonesia.

Both sides will implement the agreement in accordance with the duties and functions.

"The partnership will be conducted in accordance with the provisions of legislation," the minister revealed.

The agreement will last for five years and will be evaluated for the next term.
