Kupang, E Nusa Tenggara (ANTARA News) - Two Indonesian migrant workers identified by their names as Mateus Seman and Milka Boimau, both originating from East Nusa Tenggara, have been found dead in Malaysia, an official said here on Monday.

"These two workers were dead because of their prolonged illness," Timoteus K. Suban, the Indonesian Migrant Workers Placement, Protection and Monitoring Agency (BP3TKI) Kupang chairman, informed ANTARA, Monday.

Suban said that Seman was a resident of Gurung Liwut Village, Borong Subdistrict, Manggarai District, while Boimau was originated from Kotanes Village, Amarasi Subdistrict, Kupang District.

The agency, Suban noted, has just received the information on Saturday last week (March 10). The Malaysian authority stated that the two migrant workers have passed away earlier this month.

"Seman was dead because of a heart failure on March 5 in Tawau, while Boimau was passed away in Penang on March 7 because of a chronic lungs disease," Suban stressed.

The bodies of Seman and Boimau have been returned to their hometowns in East Nusa Tenggara on Sunday (March 11).

Meanwhile, the agency also has noted that the two migrant workers had been illegally entered Malaysia.

"We have checked their documents, and found these two people were not documented in our records as official migrant workers," Suban stated.

According to the agency`s record from Jan to Feb this year, 10 Indonesian migrant workers originating from East Nusa Tenggara had been found dead in Malaysia.

Last month, an Indonesian migrant worker, Adelina Lisao or Adelina Jemirah also had been found dead at her employer`s porch in Penang, Malaysia. She had reportedly been tortured and inhumanely treated by her employer.

Following the incident, Indonesian Ambassador to Malaysia Rusdi Kirana noted that he had proposed a moratorium for sending domestic workers to the neighboring country.

The employers, a 60 year old woman along with her daughter had been charged by the Malaysian prosecutor over the death of Lisao earlier this month.
