Madiun, E Java (ANTARA News) - Madiun Police has handled the case of the death of an American, whose body was found in his bedroom at a boarding house in Mojorejo Village, Taman Sub-district, Madiun city, East Java.

The victim, named David James (64), had been living in the boarding house for the past one year.

"We have brought the body to the Regional Public Hospital (RSUD) of Dr. Soedono in Madiun for further examination," Head of Criminal Unit of Regional Police of Madiun Adjunct Commissioner Logos Bintoro stated here on Monday.

According to Logos, the cause of the foreigner`s death has not been found yet. However, the results of the first investigation conducted by the police showed no signs of violence in the victim`s body.

Logos has ordered the reporters to check with the local immigration office on the victim`s expired passport.

The foreigner`s body was found by his friend and the security of the boarding house on Monday morning.

The victim`s friend came to the house to meet David. His suspicion became stronger as David did not open the door despite repeated knocking.

David`s friend then called the home keeper to open the room, and they found the victim dead. They immediately reported it to neighborhood Association (RT) and the police.

Hariyanto, the house keeper, noted that David had been living in the boarding house for a year. He rarely went out of his room as he was busy with his online business.

"He seemed to be okay, but he was seldom seen out, except for buying food," he revealed.

The police are still conducting further investigation of the case. The victim`s room, which is located in the second floor, has been sealed by the police.
