Jakarta (ANTARA News) - Indian investors think airport management business in Indonesia has offered an attractive opportunity to follow up, Indian ambassador to Indonesia Pradeep K Rawat said here on Monday.

He said in an India-Indonesia Infrastructure Forum event that there are reliable companies in India that are interested to bring their expertise to Indonesia through cooperation.

"The prospect is very good. I think the business opportunity is good," he said.

Rawat said one Indian company has so far already cooperated with state-owned airport management company Angkasa Pura in Bali.

"We also have several other companies that are the best in airport management that could make airport management effective. Their success may be brought here," he said.

While declining sectors Indian investors are interested in, Rawat said the sector for private cooperation is wide, and so are the opportunities.

"They may extend funding. That is also a good opportunity," he said.

Transportation minister Budi Karya Sumadi has offered Indian investors a number of investment projects from seaport and airport management to railway development.

Some of the big airports to be offered to India include Kualanamu in Medan, Sultan Aji Muhammaf Sulaiman in Balikpapan and medium-sized airports such as Raden Inten II in Lampung, Juwata in Tarakan and Komodo in Labuan Bajo.

Seaports to be offered to Indian investors are Kuala Tanjung in North Sumatra and Bitung in North Sulawesi.

"There are also smaller ports in the Indonesian central region," he said.

The minister said that with the efforts it did not mean that the government wished to sell state assets but it would only give the foreign parties limited concession within a certain period of time based upon needs of funds, expertise as well as positive world sentiment.
