"We got the news of the death sentence through a letter from the Agency for Placement and Protection of Indonesian Migrant Workers (BNP2TKI) that we received on March 21," an official of the Labor and Transmigration Office, Suroto, said here on Monday.
The office has informed her family in Karawang about the death sentence.
The migrant worker was identified as Aan binti Andi Asip from Tangkolo region in Srijaya village, Tirtajaya subdistrict of Karawang.
Aan departed to UAE on Sept 13, 2013 through a private worker placement agency, Falah Rima Hudaity Bersaudara, in Jakarta.
During her stay in UAE, Aan worked for two different employers, and her whereabouts were unknown later.
"The Abu Dhabi court in UAE named her a suspect for the planned murder on Dec 7, 2017. The victims were two Indonesian females, two Thai females, and a Bangladeshi man," he remarked, adding that Aan`s family has called on the government to provide legal assistance.
Suroto revealed that he had not received any detailed information about the issue.
