Jakarta (ANTARA News) - Indonesian Minister of Foreign Affairs Retno Marsudi here on Wednesday received a visit of South Korean First Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs Lim Sung Nam.

"The purpose of his visit was to brief in detail the result of the Inter-Korean Summit," Minister Marsudi said here, Wednesday.

To Marsudi, Vice Minister Lim also said South Korea appreciated Indonesia`s support to the peace process on the Korean Peninsula.

Lim stated that the future after the summit is optimistic since there has been a personal trust between the leaders of South and North Korea and a sincerity to continue to the next step.

"It is a good foundation to create a stable, peace and nuclear free Korean Peninsula," Marsudi said.

The leaders of North and South Korea pledged at a historic summit on Friday (April 27) to work for complete denuclearisation of the Korean Peninsula.

In addition to a complete denuclearisation, the results of the Friday`s Summit among other things South and North Korea agreed to establish a joint liaison office with resident representative of both sides in the Gaeseong region to facilitate close consultation between the authorities as well as smooth exchanges and cooperation between the peoples.

South and North Korea also agreed to proceed with reunion program for the separated families on the occasion of the National Liberation Day of August 15 this year.

The two sides also agreed to jointly participate in international sports events such as the 2018 Asian Games.

"They planned to come forth in a unified defile during the Asian Games but still discussed on what sports they will have a unified team," Marsudi said.

Moreover, South and North Korea agreed to carry out disarmament in a phased manner, as military tension is alleviated and substantial progress is made in military confidence-building.

On Monday, Indonesian President Joko Widodo summoned South Korean Ambassador to Indonesia Kim Chang-beom and North Korean Ambassador to Indonesia An Kwang Il to the presidential palace to report the result of the Inter-Korean Summit.

North Korean leader Kim Jong-un is expected to meet with US President Donald Trump in late May of early June for a North Korea-US Summit.

However, the venue of the North Korea-US Summit has yet to be determined.

To the ambassadors, President Widodo said that Indonesia is ready if asked to provide a venue for the expected North Korea-US Summit.
