Jakarta, (ANTARA News) - The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) member states will take legal and political steps to respond to the US` unilateral policy to move its embassy in Israel from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem.

The OIC member states expressed their stand on the US policy during the 45th OIC Ministerial Conference held in Dhaka, Bangladesh, the Indonesian Foreign Ministry said in a press statement released on Monday.

The OIC will take legal and political steps through the UN General Assembly, the UN Security Council, and the International Court of Justice, among others.

The OIC member states also stressed that the status of Jerusalem as the capital of Palestine is an integral part of the two-state solution to resolve the Arab-Israel conflict.

In addition, the OIC member states also called on the international community to avoid moving their embassies to Jerusalem.

The 45th OIC Ministerial Conference issued the Dhaka Declaration and several important decisions related to Palestine, including the joint stand and statement of OIC member states to consistently help provide material resources to support Palestinian people`s struggle and to strongly denounce the US? unilateral policy to open its embassy in Jerusalem on May 14, 2018.

At the opening of the OIC Ministerial Conference, the Indonesian government enjoyed the opportunity to speak on behalf of the Asian Group.
