"We suspect it is a suicide bomb attempt. We have identified one victim," spokesman for East Java Provincial Police Senior Commissioner Frans Barung Mangera said.
One of the victims was the suicide bomber who died in the scene, while the other died at the hospital, he added.
"Thirteen people who sustain injuries have been rushed to the hospital. Two of them are on-duty police officers," he said.
The police would share update information on the incident, he said adding: "It`s a sad news amid tranquil situation in Indonesia. We will open a media center."
