Jakarta (ANTARA News) - The Marketing Operation Region (MOR) III of state-owned oil and gas firm Pertamina has prepared additional stocks and facilities of fuel (BBM) and liquefied gas (LPG) to meet public demand during the Ramadan fasting month.

Pertamina MOR III General Manager Erry Widiastono noted in a written statement here on Thursday that his side, through the taskforce (SATGAS), has ensured optimal preparations in the face of the fasting month and the Eid al-Fitr or Lebaran festivities.

Widiastono said his company aimed to provide best services and easy access to the people to meet their need for BBM and LPG during Ramadan and in the run-up to the going home, or Mudik season for travelers for the post-fasting festivities, or Lebaran.

Widastono said his company had prepared stocks based on its forecast of an increase in the demand for BBM in the MOR III areas covering Jakarta, West Java, and Banten.

Widastono noted that the increase is forecast at 9.4 percent for gasoline type of BBM, such as premium, pertalite, pertamax, and pertamax turbo. In the meantime, consumption of BBM of gas oil type, such as diesel oil, dexlite, and Pertamina dex, is forecast to go down by some 3.8 percent.

In addition, the demand for LPG products in the MOR III region is forecast to increase by 10.1 percent as compared to the normal consumption in 2018. The demand for three-kg LPG, Non-PSO LPG, and 12-Kg LPG is estimated to rise by 1.4 percent; 12-kg Bright Gas, up by 18.6 percent; and 5.5-kg Bright Gas, to rise by 39 percent.

Widiaston further explained that with the high demand, Pertamina MOR III has prepared several supporting facilities to ensure the availability of fuel and LPG to meet the needs of the community.

"We have prepared 50 enclave gas stations at various locations to shorten the distance and travel time of the tankers to the location of the gas station to meet the supply demand," he added.
