Jakarta (ANTARA News) - The Indonesian Thomas and Uber Cup 2018 badminton teams carried out an exercise to adapt themselves at Hipo Badminton Bangkok on Thursday, ahead of the events scheduled from May 20 to 27 in Bangkok, Thailand.

They trained for about two hours. "The training today was not too hard, although it included the essential exercises, such as accuracy of strokes and defense. It is only that it takes not too long. As we have just arrived, we need to adapt and maintain our stamina," head of development and performance affairs of the All Indonesia Badminton Association (PBSI), Susy Susanti, said in her statement carried in the PBSI official website.

Each sector conducted an exercise according to their needs. The singles event sector focused on accuracy of strokes and several techniques in the field, while rotation exercise was added to the doubles event sector`s exercise for variation, she stated.

Despite their first day of fasting, some joined the exercise. Susy noted that they were given the freedom to fast but were also advised to maintain their health.

"Some of the team members performed fast. We allowed them to do it. The most important thing is they know and can maintain their health. For those who do not fast, we conduct exercise together," she added.

She explained that all the team members were in good health, and various activities had been carried out to maintain team solidarity.

"The team aura is okay, good. Team solidarity is preserved. We eat together. On the first day of fasting, we supported each other," she revealed.
